RED CLIFFS LODGE WEDDING!

Hi all!

It's been a while since I've updated this here blog.  My apologies.

First, I would like to clarify that the ceremony and reception are no longer being held at Eric's parents house.  The dreamy DIY wedding became a little too stressful, so we have decided to hold the wedding at Red Cliffs Lodge.

Doing the wedding here means we will have more time to spend with each and everyone of you over the weekend.  We are very excited about this decision!

The ceremony and reception will be held here on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 5:00pm.  Please keep in mind the directions to Red Cliffs Lodge say 14 miles up the canyon from Moab.  This is 14 miles up an extremely windy, narrow, 2 lane, scenic highway.  We ask that you give yourself a good 30 minutes to get up the beautiful canyon to the lodge.  We also ask that you be extremely careful driving up and especially down the canyon.  Take it easy and enjoy the gorgeous ride that follows the Colorado River through towering red rock cliffs.

MOAB TRAVEL INFORMATION

Hello to all of our friends and family! Eric and I are so excited for all of you to attend our wedding this fall. Mark your calendars and book your flights...the day is September 14th in Moab, Utah. Be prepared for a fun filled weekend full of celebration and memories, all made surrounded by the rugged scenery
of red rock.

We know how stressful it can be traveling out of state for a wedding. Many of you do not know where to eat, sleep, or party...which is tragic and is not acceptable for those attending our wedding! The purpose of this blog is to assist our out of state/town guests in making their travel plans.

Moab is a small town located in southeastern Utah.  As of a July 2011 the US Census recorded Moab's population as...wait for it...5,101. This means that we will make up about 3% of Moab's total population.

Below is a picture of Moab's airport. As evidenced by the population, Moab is a small town and has limited access, which means that flights can be a bit spendy. Flying into Salt Lake City or Grand Junction and driving to Moab may be a more economical avenue. Road Trip Baby!

Pick-up, drop-off, check-in, and bag check are all located in the building below. Terminals 1, 2, and 3 can be accessed through the main entrance...wait there are actually no terminals, just a guy in a reflector vest with a walkie-talkie. His name is Al and he accepts tips in the form of alcoholic beverages.

We would highly recommend flying into Grand Junction, Colorado which is a short 1.5 hour drive to Moab or flying into Salt Lake City which is a 3.5 hour drive to Moab. Look at all of the options and choose the avenue that best fits your budget.

Moab is a popular destination for many different kinds of outdoor enthusiasts. Hotels, condos, motels, and camping sites are located in abundance  Please be aware that Moab has many activities going on during its peak season and rooms fill up VERY fast, so BOOKING A ROOM IN ADVANCE IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Eric's parents house is about 5 miles from town. Below is a map from downtown Moab to Erics parents home, where the ceremony and reception will be held.

We have stayed at the Rim Village condos and highly recommend them!  We had a 2 bedroom, 2 full-bath, full kitchen, living room, 2 pools and hottubs and they are also about 5 miles from Eric's parents house.
